And to think I cried!

Forty years ago last December I was living on the Avenues in Salt Lake City.  I was working at ZCMI and life was.....I'm not sure how I would describe it but it probably could have been better. My father was "on assignment" for the LDS Church living and working in England.  I knew I could join them whenever I wanted but I wasn't sure I wanted to.

One morning I woke up and knew I was meant to join them. I went and inquired about a ticket and they said I could leave the next day. Too fast for me!!! Just because I knew I was meant to join them didn't mean I wanted to. I arranged to leave one week later. I left SLC on the 8th of December and cried all the way from SLC to Chicago. That's a lot of crying.  When asked at immigration why I was there and how long I was staying my reply was very exact!  "The minimum amount of time you allow!"  Four days later my life changed.

I can't say it was "Love at first sight", but by February I was begging the "Home Office" to extend my stay and 11 months later...

39 years and counting...and to think I cried!

  4. Loving the blog Chris. Don't you just love it when you look back at something and are reminded that our Heavenly Father knows us so much better than we know ourselves and EXACTLY what we need.
